§3. Notes on A Secret Alliance, August 2010 - March 2013
Nuke Deal With Iran Axes Taking Down a Billion-Dollar Drug Racket
Another nuclear deal, with Iran, was launched during these early years of the Obama Administration, but did not reach fruition until its final year in office. The years 2010 - 2013 saw the formation of a secret alliance between the United States and an officially designated terror organization, the Muslim Brotherhood. Simultaneously the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), tasked with rounding up drug smugglers, launched an investigation of Hezbollah's billion-dollar drug-smuggling empire. These two initiatives unexpectedly conflicted, because Hezbollah was a creature of Iran. Also, unfortunately for the fate of DEA's mission, that agency didn't get the memo on America's alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood, a fellow-terrorist outfit. That's hardly surprising, since Obama contracted that alliance in secret, though recorded with an official document, PSD-11. This web of alliances swept away a decade of multi-national investigation and a solid case that would have severely damaged Hezbollah's drug racketeering empire, all to avoid offending the Iranian Ayatollahs.
The purpose of the secret alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood was to convert street protests in Mideast capitals into regime change, supported by weapons smuggling, terror, and propaganda. The Muslim Brotherhood took over Egypt and Libya, and in collaboration with the U.S. State Department and CIA, sought to do the same in Syria and Lebanon. The techniques of regime change in Egypt and Libya were later applied by the CIA/State team in Ukraine, in the 'Maidan' regime-change operation of 2014.
Benghazi (Libya) was another one of those remote places that the news-reading public had never heard of, until it exploded into the news in September 2012 with the slaughter of a U.S. Ambassador and colleagues in an unguarded compound. A quickly contrived cover story made this out to be a spontaneous reaction to a video slighting Muslims. This tragically ridiculous story was almost immediately shown up as false by internal emails revealed by Wikileaks. That did not stop the Department of Justice from threatening to prosecute the author of the offending video. Reification -- the use of conspicuous government action to lend credence to a false narrative -- dictated this move. But lax security at the Benghazi compound was hardly its only vulnerability. As was later discovered, Benghazi was also a transfer point for U.S weapons smuggling into Syria. Some of these weapons found their way to Afghanistan, where they downed a U.S. helicopter, as was identified by the serial number on the casing. There was thus a great deal of sheer incompetence, as well as formal (if secret) cooperation with terrorists and rogue regimes seeking to harm the United States -- much that the perpetrators including Obama and Clinton were desperate to keep hidden from public view.
