'Who's actually running things in Washington DC?' has been a constant guessing-game since the installation of Joe Biden in the White House. Every Administration generates this sort of speculation, but with the current regime it is especially rampant, because it was not elected. That sets up a very different dynamic from anything prior. There is no popular mandate, no possibility of organizing public opinion by persuasion, no constituency, except the woke-media brigades, to rally for support. So answering the question 'Who's in charge?' involves an inquiry into the relationship of an unelected regime to what Communists used to call 'the masses'.
It is an adversary relationship. Ever since the vast expansion of mass surveillance after 9/11, everyone in America is a de facto enemy. Espionage is perforce an operation conducted against enemies (though it is done to allies too, since they could always become enemies). But the scale and intrusiveness of spying on ordinary people, who have done nothing to merit such attention, creates a state of universal criminalization. In such a state, who commands the spying apparatus commands the entire government. It is government by blackmail. Blackmailees are typically people of whom something is sought -- regulatory approval, protection from prosecution, legislative appropriation of taxpayers' funds. Hence these are usually public officials who have done something they would prefer not to reveal.
These tactics are, however, too unwieldy to work effectively on the masses. The 'fear' element of blackmail can be brought home to them by mass media dissemination of distressing news, like war, plague, economic meltdown, environmental collapse, spectacular violence, and the like. This puts the public into a passive mood suitable for acceptance of direction by those claiming authority or expertise. Where some action such as injection of an experimental drug is sought, fear of illness combined with fear of social disapproval has proved successful with most of the populace.
At the same time, any unelected regime faces the constant problem of engineering popular loyalty and support for its continued existence. The essential reality of an adversary relationship between regime and people must be concealed, or rendered moot by constant distraction. The more social conflict occupies public attention, the less likely the regime's illegal behavior, unauthorized expenditures of taxpayers' funds, or abuse of authority will be noticed or criticized. For this purpose racial conflict is made to order; and for those for whom race is not salient enough, sex in all its contrived permutations and combinations provides ample material for conflict.
These endeavors feature government enacting a kind of morality play where policy is geared to inter-group psycho-drama. Casting is done entirely by race and sex. This brings us to where Joe Biden fits it. He is the white whipping-boy. His role in the collective American psycho-drama is to play the fool. You might say he was type-cast for the part. His foolish utterances, even pre-dementia, make him the perfect foil for the superior wisdom of... Barack Obama.
Everyone has seen the video of Biden at a White House reception staring at the drapes. Everyone at the party has their back to him, obviously uninterested in talking with him. This is a Washington DC party, after all, you only curry favor with someone with the power to confer some benefit. And at this party, that someone is Obama, who is carefully calibrating the micro-seconds of his smiling countenance that he bestows on each supplicant. Poor Joe Biden is reduced to putting a hand on Obama's shoulder, imploring 'Barack' for attention. Obama ostentatiously gives him none, shakes off the hand, and turns to someone more worthy of notice.
Why was this video allowed out, and even encouraged to go viral? Surely the White House presidential handlers are embarrassed to see Biden so obviously humiliated. Then it hit me -- Biden's humiliation is the whole point. Obama hammered the point home by accidentally-on-purpose introducing him as 'the Vice-President'. This is a morality play where a black man is humiliating a white man. It wasn't enough for a black man to be elected President twice. No, in revenge for the voters' later repudiation of him, Obama returns as the éminence grise -- or éminence noire -- to haunt and direct the mentally disabled white occupant of the White House.
Many in Washington DC are calling the current regime 'Obama's third term'. In personnel choices in areas of the world that he cares about, such as the Mideast, the key positions are all filled by Obama loyalists. The Domestic Policy Council, which is constantly expanding its writ, is headed by another consummate humiliator of Biden, Susan Rice. The defining quality of Biden's role is that of the white man humiliated by a black person. It sends a message to all white people among the masses as to exactly where they stand. (White people with money or power are exempt, of course, though they too must render the proper obsequies to these psycho-reparations.) The video of Biden being ignored at his own party was released, apparently, to answer the 'Who's in charge' question, and to stroke Obama's ego. It's not the whole story, but it illuminates a salient feature of current U.S. politics.
This bizarre dynamic gives us a clue to the proliferation of ridiculous sexual identities, damaging medical experiments, and fraudulent elections. In each of these cases, the public is importuned to believe utter absurdities. Common-sense should tell them otherwise, and perhaps it does, though in a voice too quiet to be heard. Were they to hear that voice, they would know immediately that men cannot become women and women cannot become men, that a drug that prevents neither infection nor transmission in not a vaccine, is useless for the purpose claimed, and actually damages health, and that the way Biden was installed in the White House was completely fraudulent and contrary to legal election procedure. What accounts for all of these violations of common-sense is a kind of conditioning-by-humiliation. The meaning of the Biden presidency, like the meaning of these other absurdities, is simply to humiliate opponents -- meaning anyone with enough common-sense to recognize the obvious.
What about reports that Biden blasted staff for constantly correcting his public statements. He must realize what is going on. he can(t be that detached from reality. I wonder what kind of changes Biden will make after mid-terms. Nice work Peter. You should be on TV
But why do people go along with it?
